Local women put together bags of necessities for the homeless and those who are struggling
Eliza Eugene of LaPlace knows spare change can only go so far to help a person in need. From surprise and gratitude, she sees the reactions and knows in her heart that each donation makes a difference.

Helping the less fortunate........
Growing up with a single mother, Eliza Eugene remembers how hard Christmas could be for her family. “My mom would tell us, ‘There might not be much this year,’” Eugene said. “She had to work real hard. Somehow, something always came through. The community, the church, a neighbor, someone would step in and there would be a toy.”
